Regarding the official launch of regular thoroughbred speed racing at Conghua Racecourse on October 31, the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) stated that the project has entered its final testing phase for both software and hardware, including the fully completed spectator grandstand, and also reiterated that no betting service will be provided for these races.
The HKJC revealed that Conghua Racecourse will break away from tradition in the future by hosting team-based horse racing competitions. The overall vision for the racecourse is to become a year-round, multi-functional facility that integrates learning, entertainment, and socializing.
A number of regions in Mainland China, such as Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, and Wuhan already host various forms of horse racing festivals featuring teams from different provinces and cities. It is anticipated that the format of the future “team racing speed events” in Conghua will be broadly similar to these competitions.
