The recent G3 Hampton Court Stakes winner Generic, who scored during the Royal Ascot meeting, has been purchased by a Hong Kong owner. The gelding is scheduled to be shipped to Hong Kong to continue his racing career under the care of trainer Anthony Cummings, with the Four-Year-Old Classic Series next season set as his main target.
Currently a three-year-old, Generic is a son of Kameko. Previously trained by Ralph Beckett in Great Britain, he has recorded two wins and two seconds from four career starts. He broke his maiden in his second career start over 1603m in a 3yo+ Novice Stakes at Yarmouth. He finished second to Constitution River in the Listed Dee Stakes. Constitution River subsequently went on to win the Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby) and the Coral-Eclipse, while Generic bounced back in his next start to claim the Hampton Court Stakes.
